About the Event: This event focuses on the crucial role of businesses in the sustainability transitions required by government bodies from local councils to national ministries. The session will highlight the development and importance of a monitor that provides a coherent overview of how businesses in the Netherlands are performing concerning Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainability initiatives.

Background: The monitor was developed by Innovatiespotter at the request of the National Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is designed to offer a detailed, data-driven insight into the sustainability status and progress of the SDGs within Dutch businesses, allowing for systematic monitoring and potential adjustments annually at local, regional, and national levels.

  • Introduction to the monitor’s background and development.
  • Insights into sustainability within the Dutch business sector.
  • Discussion on SDGs and their interconnections.
  • New insights for regions.
  • Q&A session with the speakers.

Speakers:

  • Sandra Pellegrom: National Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and initiator of the monitor.
  • Gea Vellinga: CEO of Innovatiespotter and project leader of the monitor.
  • Willem Overbosch: Moderator and CEO of SDG Align.
